Deep Fried Beef Ribs

These super good, super crisp beef ribs will be gone before you know it.

Ingredients

  • 1 (200 g) pack
  • PUREFOODS CLASSIC HONEYCURED BACON, cut into 1/2" cubes
  • 1 kg
  • MONTEREY BEEF OYSTER BLADE (kalitiran), cubed
  • 2 pc
  • Medium carrots, peeled and cut into large chunks
  • 1 pc
  • White onion, quartered
  • 6 cups
  • Beef stock
  • 1-1/2 cups
  • Red wine
  • 1 cup
  • Finely chopped red bell peppers
  • 2 pc
  • Siling labuyo, finely chopped
  • 6 cloves
  • Garlic, sliced
  • 3 pc
  • Bay leaves
  • 1/2 cup
  • Finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp
  • Crushed black peppercorns
  • 1/2 tsp
  • Paprika
  • Iodized fine salt to taste

How to make it

Step 1

Combine short ribs / kaldereta cut, onions, garlic, ginger. peppercorn, bayleaf, rock salt and water. Bring to a boil. Adjust heat to low. Cook beef until fork tender. Set aside cooked beef when done.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan. Season cooked beef with fish sauce. Set aside. Combine five spice powder and cornstarch. Roll in marinated cooked beef in cornstarch mixture and deep fry on the hot oil until golden brown. Drain beef with pepper towel. Transfer in a plate. Set aside.

Step 3

For the dipping sauce: Combine everything together, transfer in a sauce dish and serve together with the deep fried beef. Enjoy.
